GroCamera

A durable, compact, and light-sensitive underwater video camera specifically developed for monitoring fish feeding in aquaculture. The GroCamera provides the fish farmer with an indispensable tool for monitoring and evaluating fish appetite, animal behaviour, and the general situation in the cage.

Qualities

The GroCamera is a small and compact device that is perfect for monitoring fish feeding in aquaculture. It is equipped with a wide-angle lens, ensuring a full view of what is happening in the fish cage. The camera is also light-sensitive, allowing for clear visibility even in low-light underwater conditions. The device is also designed to withstand harsh environments, with strong and durable casing and cable.

Wide Angle Lens

The GroCamera’s 142 degree wide-angle lens provides a broad view of the underwater environment, ensuring that the operator can see everything that is happening in and around the fish cage. This is especially important when monitoring fish feeding, as it allows the operator to see the entire feeding area. Additionally, the camera’s lens is designed to prevent feed and debris accumulation, ensuring clear vision even in challenging conditions.

Low Light Capabilities

The GroCamera’s low lux image sensor makes it highly sensitive to light, enabling clear visibility in underwater environments, where low-light conditions are common. This ensures that the operator can monitor fish feeding and behavior even in low light conditions, providing vital information for the supervision of both the feed system and animal welfare.

Extremely Durable Cable

The cable is a variation of the extremely durable GroCable tailor-made for the GroSensor and GroCamera. This cable is made for extreme conditions and can withstand a high amount of abuse. The thick TPU cable and kevlar sheet make this cable extremely durable to ensure a reliable product.

Designed to Withstand

The GroCamera is designed to withstand some of the harshest conditions in the world, such as those found around the Faroe Islands. With a life-expectancy of 5 years, the GroCamera is a cost-effective investment for any fish farmer.

Better Efficiency and Less Waste

The use of GroCamera allows the operator to take direct control of a feed line’s delivery to a cage. Under observation, the camera can see if pellets descend below the main body of the fish. This is a clear indication that the appetite is satisfied. As a consequence, both feed wastage and seabed pollution can be minimized, and production efficiency optimized.

Our customers say that investment in GroCamera creates value from day one. The GroCamera is an optimal tool for the realization of maximum fish growth potential.

Our clients say

Our goal is to reduce CO2 emissions with 50% by 2030. By diverting to landline power-supply for our feeding barges, we can reduce oil consumption and thereby emissions from our farm sites.

Jón Purkhús
Manager, Bakkafrost Faroe Islands

GroAqua delivered all the technical equipment for our farmsite in Sandsvág, Faroe Islands. They delivered the feeding barge, camera system, feeding system, internet, sensors and landline.

Hans Jákup Mikkelsen
Managing Director, Mowi Faroe Islands

GroAqua has a lot of experience in building feeding barges for areas with unpredictable weather and challenging seas. With a hybrid barge from GroAqua, we are taking big steps toward more sustainable farming.
